Katya Jackson London Photo Guide

Hi!

‘Ok, But First Coffee’ is, for me, a lifestyle. It means nothing is impossible, it’s just up to us to make things happen. It also means that regardless of your schedule or busyness you can always find time for a chat over coffee with a friend. Relationships with others are what make our lives interesting. In other words: take it easy, do your thing and find time for others.

I love photography and my iPhone is the only camera I have. I’m lucky to live in London: a vibrant and multicultural city which inspires me every day and has had an enormous influence on my photography. But I can’t imagine my life here without being well-caffeinated—and there are a lot of coffee shops here with a great selection of coffee.

So what is this blog about?

  • London. I moved to London in April 2014 and still find myself in tourist mode. I love exploring this city and take a lot of photos on my iPhone. After some time, I came up with the idea of free ‘London Photography Superstar’ email course and ‘London Photo Guide’. Please check them out. I’m sure both the course and the guide will help you take better and more interesting photos of this beautiful city.

  • Coffee. I’m 100% addicted to coffee and I have tried to give it up three times! It’s my morning or midday ritual—to have a cup of hot coffee in order to carry on with a busy day. Coffee shops are – with the exception of supermarkets – the shops I frequent most often in London. I also like to takes photos of their varied interiors or of the coffee itself. It’s two birds with one stone, I suppose.

  • Mobile Photography and Instagram. Or iPhoneography, because I use my iPhone 6S at the moment. I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember, but I never liked to be in them. My favourite genre is city (or street) photography, and that’s what I think I do best. Photography is one of my passions and I’m happy to share the tips and tricks I use all the time. You can expect to see posts about editing mobile photos, composition ideas and Instagram tips. Check out my free ‘Build and Authentic Instagram Account‘ e-course.

And now I would love to know about you! Say hello in the comments, introduce yourself and tell me about your favourite coffee.

Cheers,

Katya

    Hello there!

I’d love to receive a postcard from you, too. My fave coffee is Clipper coffee (they have a wide variety of teas and coffees) because of its gentle taste and splendid flavours. You should definitely try it, if you haven’t. I usually buy a bag of Clipper products whenever I’m in the UK (sadly, they don’t ship to Russia).

    Have a lovely day,
    Maria

Good afternoon! I’d really like to get a postcard from you because I want to put it on the ceiling above my bed and to see it every morning before starting my day. So, i badly need at least one of them 😉 Actually, I don’t have any preferences about coffee, I like all types and kinds of it, but mostly I prefer coffee with milk.
    Have a nice day;)

Hello I’m really interested to know where your best coffee in Lisbon was? I’m going there next week!

      05.11.2015 / 15:03

      Hi Sarah,

I LOVED Lisbon, I’m sure you will like it too! 🙂

The place is called Armazem F (www.armazemf.com)
Google says it’s a concert venue, back back to April there was a riverside terrace where you can enjoy coffee with a very nice view.

The address is: Rua da Cintura Armazém 65 Cais do Gás-Santos, 1200-109 Lisboa, Portugal

Let me if you liked it and have a good trip!
      Katya

Hello! I am not drinking coffee at all. I would opt for tea flavoured with bergamot.

Hello Katya, I haven’t been so long in London ad you, but I am also discovering it through mobile photography. Reading about cafés is always a good guide to the city flavor.
Would you go for a coffee and a couple of mobile photo shots?

      Hi Gustavo,

thanks for your comment. What was you favorite place in London?

Actually it’s a good idea to organize a coffee and mobile photography meet up, I will think about it 🙂

      Stay tuned,
      Katya

I hope you/we can make the meet up.
A café I like is Paul, across South Kesington Station.
